Every second weekend of October, rockhounds young and old are invited to compete in the Quartz, Quiltz, & Craftz Festival at Mound Ida. This triathlon event begins at the Ouachita River Park as participants are transported to the base of the Remmel Dam to begin the 5-mile kayak event during the first stage of the race.
