It’s Time to Prepare to Go Back to School

Remember the opening song for Phineas and Ferb? “It’s a hundred and four days of summer vacation and school comes along just to end it.” Well, it’s that time again, folks. Summer is about to end and school season is right around the corner. It’s time to begin preparations for the new school year so you won’t end up in a last-minute rush.

Here are things that you need to do before you go back to school and begin the school year stress-free.

Read up on what you did last year. If you know that you will be continuing a previous course for the next school year, then you can prepare for the newer lessons by spending time reviewing past lessons. Read through your notes or textbooks to refresh your memory.

Check out this year’s syllabus. Read through the syllabus for each of the subjects that you’re taking next year to know what you need to expect for the coming year. Take the time to look at how each subject is assessed so you know what you need to work on and what you will be working towards this year.

Buy the books you’ll need. Know which books you’ll need and purchase them ahead of time. Take the time to write down your name and put covers on them, if necessary.

Do some advanced reading. Since you’ve already read the syllabus, why not get a headstart and read up on things you will be discussing for the year? That way, you won’t be constrained by time during the year.

Make sure you’ve done summer homework. Some teachers like to give homework or projects so you have something to do during the summer. Check out your notebooks and planners to see if there are any projects you need to finish.

Prepare your wardrobe. Of course, a new school year will be a chance to show off new clothes or new styles. Prepare them ahead of time to make sure that your clothes don’t have any holes or creases so you’ll be for the first day of school.

Get your school bag ready. Make sure your schoolbag has been washed and has everything you’ll need like textbooks, notebooks, stationery, a calculator, pens, and so on.

Relax. Now that you’ve prepared all the things that you need for school, it’s now time to enjoy the last days of summer. Get as much rest as possible to keep you looking fresh and well-rested on the first day of class.
